|
The Public Interest on Media Agenda program is initiated by the Soros Foundation Romania and is implemented in partnership with the Center for Independent Journalism (CIJ) Bucharest.
The project generally targets the local television stations in Romania, aiming to bring forward on their agenda important public interest issues and to determine responsible and professional media coverage. In 2009, the program shall extend its target over the local radio stations in Romania, in a dedicated section of the competition.
Another objective of the program is to enhance the cooperation between mass media and NGOs - on one hand - and between decision-makers (local authorities, state agencies) and citizens, civil society actors and mass media - on the other hand.
Each year the program will have a different topic and a competition will be organized, with the purpose of stimulating local TV and radio stations to produce documentaries.
The topic chosen for 2009, for the second edition of the competition, is MIGRATION.
For further details on the program please contact Adrian Raspopa, Program Coordinator for Soros Foundation Romania, at araspopa[at]soros[dot]ro.
